Well the day arrived and what a beautiful day it was!!!!! and a fantatsic day too!!!! several parents, grandparents, aunties and even the tattoo artists had a tattoo or two... all for the CF Comfort fund... a total £715 was raised for this fantastic cause!!!
The CF comfort fund works closely with the local CF centre, providing regular funding to enable professionals to update through participation in specialist courses, national and international conferences. The fund also has provided the funds to establish community specialist support staff enabling families to have homecare. Art therapy sessions, an exercise bike and improved day room facilities to make some hospital stays more enjoyable are other examples of the help the comfort fund has been able to give. The comfort fund also believe that the most important aspect of caring for these patients is to enhance quality of life and since the charity was established in 1993, examples of the support they have been able to give by request have been; portable oxygen cylinders, replacement bedding, aromatherapy and massage to relieve pain and provide relaxation and a sofa bed for a parent to stay on with her sick child. Phew!!! a very worthwhile cause!! the charity is based in bristol so seemed very fitting to support!!! But i think for a lot of people, and myself, this tattoo day was a way to show our support to doing whatever we can to irradicate this horrible horrible disease, to support those suffering and to support their families too!!!
